Monday 26 April 2021 World Day for Health and Safety at work 2021 Step Change in Safety marks World Day for Health and Safety at work 2021 The World Day for Safety and Health at Work is an annual international campaign to promote safe, healthy and decent work. It is held on 28 April and has been observed by the International Labour Organization (ILO) since 2003. The World Day for Safety and Health at Work theme for 2021 as set by the International Labour Organization is anticipate, prepare and respond to crises and invest now in resilient occupational health and safety systems. The theme acknowledges the impact that the global COVID-19 pandemic has had on our working lives and the importance of building an effective, resilient, and adaptable work health and safety framework. The Health & Safety Executive (HSE) says: "With the UK being a founding member of the ILO, HSE is fully supportive of the ILO's promotion of this day, which will be recognised by a number of tripartite events taking place around the world. The ILO continues to do important work on occupational safety and health, especially in the developing world. In 2006 it adopted a new Convention in this area – on a Promotional Framework for Occupational Safety and Health."
