About

The Industry 2024 Data Report, produced by Step Change in Safety and Empirisys, explores how AI and machine learning, via the Boost tool, enhance the E-Obs observation platform. Analysing over 24,000 safety observations from 2024, the report shows how Boost improves hazard and Life-Saving Rule (LSR) categorisation, identifies key safety themes (such as valve isolation, door safety, and barrier management), and recovers critical "weak signals" that manual reporting misses. With over 90% accuracy, Boost offers suggested corrective actions, reveals hidden trends, and significantly improves HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) performance and incident prevention across the energy industry.
