Workforce Engagement

Engaging the workforce to improve worksite safety

The Workforce Engagement Support Team (WEST) aims to strengthen workforce involvement through proactive engagement, helping to improve safety and wellbeing across the industry.

We achieve this by strengthening workforce engagement across the industry – finding and removing barriers, and encouraging positive behaviours. Great examples of workforce engagement are highlighted and shared, so everyone can learn from them.

These are shared through our quarterly Tea Shack News newsletter and bi-annual Safety Rep events. WEST also created and maintains the Workforce Engagement Toolkit, which includes an online survey, plus Leadership Site Visit guidance and a practical handbook.
